GERIATRIC PROFILE
Fortunately for us and our pets, lifespans are increasing. Like us, as our pets mature they become increasingly susceptible to a variety of age related conditions.
We can assess a great deal about your mature pet’s health status beyond the scope of an examination. Some examples of early detection include hormone related conditions ( diabetes, thyroid function, adrenal glands:; dietary imbalances or deficiencies ; gastrointestinal irregularities, skin and coat changes, weight losses or gains); kidney and liver functions; certain heart and pulmonary conditions and some forms of cancer. Early detection often means a possible cure or more manageable treatment. We will also make recommendations for home health care that may be needed. Dr. Zuczek and staff will advise you on what is considered geriatric status for your pet based on breed and species.
To obtain the profile for your pet, simply make an appointment to drop off your pet (fasted) with us in the morning and pick up late afternoon or early evening. Profile can also be accomplished in certain pets on appointment if owners can provide us with a urine sample.
