Flea and tick season is once again approaching. This year THE ANIMAL CLINIC will be offering FRONTLINE TOP SPOT as well as PROGRAM once a month oral flea control. Bathing and dipping is available at the clinic on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. A brief description of the products we recommend for flea and tick control are listed on the reverse.
Depending on the initial severity of infestation, a combination of strategies may apply to your individual situation. Using a house treatment with insect growth regulator in combination with starting FRONTLINE, PROGRAM or baths and dips will yield the best results, particularly if there is an existing infestation. Pets must be current on vaccinations to refill PROGRAM and FRONTLINE prescriptions.
If you have PROGRAM or FRONTLINE left over from last season you may resume giving it in MARCH or APRIL this year. I would also like to remind dog owners to have their pet tested for HEARTWORM and to start a once a month preventive if dosing was suspended over the winter.
